They are children of war. They have lost their homes, their cities and their families. Orphaned children struggle to find themselves and their place in this world. Many lost their ability to communicate. Many also have hearing loss, which also robs them of their voice. Creating art allows them to open up and express themselves.
Manchester University and HearCare Audiology of Fort Wayne are collaborating to bring their art to both MU campuses.

Pre-concert activities begin at 6 p.m. and include guided viewing in the Charles M. Morris Observatory by Manchester University Physics Professor Christer Watson, liquid nitrogen ice cream by Associate Professor of Chemistry Terrie Salupo-Bryant, student displays and a Starlab planetarium tent.

Earlier in the day, expect to see hundreds of sixth-graders and high school students on campus.

This astronomy themed evening will feature a 30 minute film with images of stars, galaxies and planets, while the orchestra performs Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition". Visiting astronomer/visual artist Dr. José Francisco Salgado will speak about the intersection of science and art. Pre-concert activities will begin at 6 p.m. and include the campus observatory, liquid nitrogen ice cream, student displays and a star tent lab.
